Detectives based at Kilimani arrested Danson Mungatana and Collins Paul Waweru for the offence of obtaining money by false pretenses, forgery and making of a false document.

The two, with others who are still at large, were arrested after their victim presented to a security agency tender documents purported to have originated from them but were found to be fake after scrutiny.

Before presenting the fake tender documents, the victim had allegedly paid Sh. 1,000,000 so as to be assisted to win a Sh. 70 million cereals and building tenders and was to pay another Sh. 1,000, 000 before detectives pounced on the two at a hotel in the CBD.

Good evening sir,today at around 1600hrs officers from Military Police Unit D.O D came to our office claiming that one lady namely Everlyne Njoki who is a complainant in this matter had reported to their Office with tender documents purported to have originated from them,when the documents were scrutinized they were found to be fake.The lady said that a person who introduced himself as a Senior Military Officer at D.O D incharge of tenders had given them the documents and said that he was in a position to help them win a ksh 70 million cereals and building tender.The said person requested to be given a down payment of kshs 1million and which was handed to him on 14/7/2020.the said person called the complainant and inform her to have a meeting today at Sagret Hotel so as they can meet the person pushing for there tenders at D O D the complainant together with other two ladies went to sacred hotel and found one Collins Paul Waweru together with ,Hon Danson Mungatana who was introduced as the senior person pushing for the tenders at D O D they also demanded for another ksh 1million for deal to go through,it's at this point that the complainant and the two ladies got suspicious and informed the Military Police personnel who in turn requested our action,officers rushed to the scene and arrested Hon Mungatana and other person namely Collins Waweru
The two are currently recording statements at DCI Office Kilimani.
