Isn't this a very foolish method of stealing that leaves one very exposed? I mean an auditor just needs to visit the school with a printout of the NEMIS enrollment and compare it with the class attendance register and the culprit is headed to Gathigiriri...

Unapatikana rahisi sana. Kuna maprincipal wengi sana wamefungiwa allotment juu ya hii ujinga ya kutuma idadi feki ya watoto.

This warning was posted last week on MMNN
Warning to all parents of KCPE candidates 2019.
Avoid giving Birth certificate and parents ID details to any school or principal unless you want your child to join that school. Some schools now illegally use that data and feed it in their NEMIS portal to get government funds.You will be surprised when you take your child in a school only to be told they are already registered in the "illegal"school you gave the details.The process of deregistering a learner from NEMIS is so complicated that many parents may not walk from one office to the other so " tahadhari kabla ya hatari" save the parents from this mess of greedy schools.--

ION - Just this week I was dealing with a report that half the children in Marsabit County schools could be Ethiopian. Either the mothers move to Kenya a few weeks to birth so that when the child is delivered in a Kenyan health facility they get Notification of Birth, the first step to acquiring a birth cert, or the ethiopians hire a kenyan couple to register the child as their own.
