Having excessive faith in government

Politicians lie all the time

Distinguishing qualities of good politicians is that they never do what they say they’ll do and do what they haven't said they'll do
They lie for personal financial gain
They lie to cover their asses
They lie to get elected and re-elected

Politicians are corrupt
They steal public resourceful with impunity

Politicians are unethical
They torment their electorate for their own entertainment

What bewilders me is the fact that majority of the citizens have absolute faith in their so called leaders despite all these negative traits, the kind of faith that should only be reserved for a supreme deity.

Highly learned individuals will believe anything and everything their government tells them without question despite overwhelming evidence that suggest the government is lying especially if the lie propagated revolves around scary stuff.

Current situation in the last five months alone

Freedom to worship - now limited
Freedom of movement- now limited
Freedom to earn a living - now limited
Freedom of assembly - completely taken away
Right to education - completely taken away
Freedom of speech - highly suppressed

and again what is the excuse for all these ?

As a wise man once said

Give them an inch, they will take a yard
Give them a yard, they will take a mile

Next things you know, all your rights will be taken away, and once they are gone they will never be restored without a fight

Citizen’s acquiescence to draconian regulations by government that deny them their rights and privileges based on lies just because they are too afraid to speak out

We can speak out now or bury our heads in the sand until it’s too late, and then will have to fight and shade blood to get our rights restored

but you are assuming that before when we had the right to congregate, worship, earn, speak....., that our voices or actions mattered.

whether we like it or not, the 1% will always have power and control over the 99%.

and yet again, the taking of freedoms and rights was already in action through the media (Hollywood-movies & series, youtube) and also through PC (Politically Correct) culture.

we were already being reconditioned for changes

but you are right that taking them back will require fighting and deaths.

what am saying is that the government and our leaders are taking advantage of the situation to enrich themselves at the expense of its citizen
if you can not see how this is happening , i could do a thread illustrating exactly what is taking place behind closed doors of the big government offices
