People laugh at the way we voted twice in 2017, only for Uhunye to turn around and embrace the man he'd begged us to help him defeat.

The Mulembe nation voted for JaKuon, then helped hom boycott and attempt to sabotage Round II. On 30/1/2018, they were played as JaKuon swore himself in, and then abandoned when he joined Uhunye.

Now look at the way they're being herded back by Atwoli, who plans to sell them yet again to JaKuon for 2022. Take another look at the way the lives of the voting masses remain unchanged despite such mobilization every five years.

Luhyas have always followed Luos blindly like lemmings to jump off a political cliff. They do it every time and seem to never to learn. Luhyas and Kambas are notoriously unreliable to form group large enough worth anybody's time despite their sizable numbers. It's easier break them up into pieces and scatter them around to become inconsequential.

The Luhya, unlike the Luo or kikuyu, are not one large monolithic group. They are a collection of different tribes whose dialect is similar in certain cases, extremely different in other cases, and most have their own rivalries. Case in point Maragolis and Bukusus.

This is why you find Luhyas from Busia not able to understand what a Maragoli or a Bukusu is saying. A good example is that Yambakhana song by Sauti Sol. Only Bukusus understand a good majority of what he's singing.

On the political front, there is nothing like Luhya unity. This is why there are chupilee governers, senators and mpigs e.t.c in Luhyaland. It is easier for a party to get a foothold in Luhyaland, that's why Lootall is concentrating efforts huko. All those in that picture may be Luhya, but I'm sure they come from different parties.

Luhyas did not wake up at 3 am to vote ODM as a whole community like others voted chupilee thrice. ANC and the various Fords have a say as well.

And yes, Luhyas and Luos follow each other because of a shared history. The so-called mashemeji is very true. The intermarriage between the two is widely documented.

The Luhya in some cases cannot follow kalenjins because they are the traditional enemy, and definitely not kikuyus because of a history of use and damp among other mideeds. Who should the Luhya turn to if not Luos?

As an outside observer, I find it ludicrous just as it's happening in other regions including Central that the perennial losers who promise bread only ro serve stones are at it again.
Weta and MaDVD are busy campaigning on one side as are Eugene and akina Oparanya.

It will end in premium tears.

Of all the big tribes, the Luhya are the most mature politically. The fact that they give audience to all leaders shows they're democratic.

In Central Karua and PK were criticised for Kuharibu kura. They had to lick ass to win back the favor. Same as Orengo in 2022 alibiwa anaharibu kura. Sahii analamba you cant believe he is the same Orengo of the brave young turk of 1992.

Nyong'o na Orengo ilibidi wafuate Raila because of the severe tribal politics in 2007. They gained a lot of financial resources in Grand coalition government mpaka Orengo akaanza kununua suits za 500k.

Rafiki, as a society, we encourage behaviour through rewards.

When you clap for a child when they dance, they dance some more. When an employee works hard, you give them a bonus and they work even harder. When you give a dog a treat for fetching a ball/stick, they will fetch more sticks.

What do we as a society reward those who fight for justice and rights? Nothing, you say? Can we really blame Orengo then? We don't even vote for them, leave alone earning a living.

It's the same manner in which civil society movements get hijacked by foreigners. We the locals are unwilling to support those who put their necks out for us.

You have a point but your criticism of Central folk is a tad unfair. I'd actually point out that the Agikuyu have something that should be emulated. And that is not having tribal kingpins who get universal support even when they are on the wrong.

Also, do consider the point by @JazzMan that the Luhya aren't one homogenous group unlike many of the other so called 'big tribes'.
