Kindly bear with me for copy pasting from the MCA cesspool but I couldn’t bear the outrage and had to duplicate it verbatim:
Looks to me like all JSKS is interested in is spreading his thieving tentacles to all the sectors that brings in money to Kenya.
He has been on NSSF, KRA, Affordable Housing and Banks among others. His daughter is positioning herself to Tourism and Hospitality.
She also want to engage private sector in Aforestation and Reforestation. I guess she will be a big player therein.
Now they want to barge in on Diasporas remittances under the guise of reforming and streamlining the sector! Why fix something that ain’t broken Jameni and what kind of improvements can we envisage?
I have deep reservations about this because I think all they want is look for an opportunity to bring in some taxation. Yet this is money which have already been paid tax for abroad.
I reckon we will be following Eritrea and North Korea where even money to help parents or pay hospital bills for is routinely taxed.
I think it is high time Diasporas started investing in our respective domiciles but bearing in mind that remittances are the highest foreign earner, won’t the Country suffer?
