WANKSTA. WHERE WERE YOU HIZI MIAKA

Kibaki ushered a new dispensation and Kenya kulikuwa na good vybez in 2003 when this guy hit the scene with his Get Rich or die Trying album...someone in the neighbourhood lied to me that ¢50 was the son of Luo immigrants. Me being a foolish early teen, nikaamini until a few years later :D
Anyway, this was my fave track apart from In da club, of course

Hii ngoma pamoja na Right thurr Chinggy, Dilemma Nelly, into you Fabolous, work it Missy Elliot were on heavy rotation pale Channel O
Good old days man. Kwanza there was a period in the 90s when KTN used to have different genres each weekday. Ya Lingala ilikuwa inaitwa Kass Kass. Alafu The Beat ikakuja 2002 pamoja na Warehouse Livewire just before Channel Ngovo aka Channel 5 ya TZ ikajaza airwaves with Old Skool Bongo Flava (frayva). Damn, I though Ray-C was a goddess jo

KTN had a show "kasskass" used to play pure local Kenyan music. It was a must watch kwa sababu mzanzi's channel o didn't give a F*** to Kenyan music. Ray c is still hot hata leo, ubaya ni hard drugs zinamsubua sana.

I actually think that's what I'm confusing with Kass Kass 😂
Channel O for their credit gave a platform for Kalamashaka (long before Ukoo Flani Mau Mau) especially with the Fanya Mambo song. Gave them some awards and exposure such that Snoop said they're the best hip hop act in Africa.
