There are different types of pregnancies that an expectant couple should be aware of. For the record, a woman is considered pregnant when fertilisation takes place.
A pregnant woman is expected to deliver their developing foetus after 40 weeks of being pregnant.
Below are common types of pregnancies;
A breech pregnancy occurs when the baby's position is head up in the uterus and the feet are close to the cervix. This occurs early in the pregnancy, and turn close to the delivery date.
2. Chemical pregnancy
Chemical or biochemical pregnancy as many my prefer is a pregnancy loss that occurs shortly after implantation. In this pregnancy, an egg was fertilised but couldn't grow due to biological or environmental reasons.
3. Molar pregnancy
This type of pregnancy occurs when a placenta is formed in the uterus but there is no foetus to support.
4. Ectopic pregnancy
An ectopic or tubal pregnancy occurs outside the uterus. This pregnancy occurs when a foetus develops at the fallopian tube. This pregnancy is not safe, this leads to surgery. Common symptoms of ectopic pregnancy are vaginal bleeding and abdominal pains.
5. Intrauterine pregnancy
Intrauterine pregnancy is the normal pregnancy, a foetus develops in the uterus without complications what so ever. The placenta attached inside the uterus to the uterine muscle.
