Runda June 30, 1978
Overlooking various construction of Villa's in (Old Runda) from Rosslyn Academy playground. Some original houses can still be seen from google maps. The road pointed by the red arrow is Ruaka Grove.
Runda was developed in 1972 by the project due to demand that when United Nations Environment Programme Headquarters was built in Gigiri in the early 1970s. The first phase of the estate (Old Runda) was completed between 1972 and 1980.
The name RUNDA was coined from an abbreviation to mean "Reserved United Nations Development Area".
