Lack of ethics and dearth of morals in general, is the byword of our current interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships.
Folks are all out in it to find what monetary benefits they can milk out of any given situation - even while serving roles traditionally altruistic and free of charge at the point of delivery.
Kenyans have become like Nigerians who are unashamed to charge for anything and everything.
It is the reason for instance that traffic-accident victims are easy pickings by pilfering first responders. Mind you Folks, even religious ones who claim to be saved, have normalised this and see nothing wrong or untoward as they engage in this vice.
Civil Servants working in NSSF are notorious for demanding 50% of poor and sickly retirees’ final pensions even when it is as misery as K100.
NHIF staff have no qualms demanding hefty amounts of money to give a service meant to be free.
Doctors and Staff in Government Hospitals don’t think twice withholding emergency treatment till they are bribed.
It is deeply depressing but that’s the state of the Nation.
We urgently needs a reset in our consciousness and that is what Gen Z has sparked.
