A friend is thinking of doing a trade in at Toyotsu (most reputable second hand car dealer) and wants to get a 2013/2014 Subaru Forester without Turbo.

Pros and cons in a language we can all understand.

My understanding is that a turbo increases the output of an engine for greater acceleration and speed. My friend of course is a 70-year old mzee who has no need for either. So why should he care? Please explain.......

A couple of forums I have read about Forester ,they say it's underated . The symetrical all wheel drive is an added advantage and superior on slippery road .Kama time iko you can get one from Japan Kama hii 985k upto Mombasa .

Some people fear importing yet it's a very smooth process and the guys in Japan are totally legit.

I bet those who fear the direct import ni wale wameumia because of dealing with small shady outfits or clearing agents from hell .The likes of SBT ,Beforward, JPC ,Autocom ,Delights do deliver decent units .

I would suggest he be patient and sells the unit on his own. Trade ins the dealer shafts you from both directions. But it is a good car the only thing you have to look out for is the steering rack that sometimes acts out in these models and replacements can be costly locally. I have seen guys import from dubai which was cheaper. But which car does not have its mood swings. so go for it
