OK. Hear me out, his administration might have cheap and accessible housing as a priority with fairness unless the Boma Yango fiasco by Uhuru but jana, something akin to political bribery happened in broad daylight.
Kings Serenity development with over 700 housing units has been in construction for some years now. I know it well since I did a site inspection in 2020 when wifey and I wanted to invest in real estate. A 2BR back then was 3.3M (it's now 3.8M) and in our research, couldn't ascertain who the real owner was.
Now, back to jana, Kajiado's governor Ole Lenku among a host of other leaders and the full gafment machinery landed in Ronga to host the CiC as the chief guest to launch the development with much fanfare and crucially, talk of it being affordable housing. Shait!
Anyway, the biggest con in our political landscape in recent times has been the hustler narrative. Not that bottom-up as a government system is bad but the illusion that these billionaires are like you and me.
Now obviously we are a capitalistic economy and investing in housing is a sure bet, especially in urban areas and I will give H.E. the acumen to make a shilling. However, a distinction needs to be made between personal projects and state matters. It's the same reason we kept on hounding Uhuru due to their family's vast portfolio meddling with the opportunities of ordinary investors.
May those with ears hear and them with eyes see.
