Taking cholestrol tablets for longtime

Recently, I was diagnosed for high cholesterol and prescribed to take cholesterol tablets if I'm not controlling my diets. Are there any side effects of cholesterol tablets when taking for long time? if someone has been using these tablets, please advice me.
 
Yes..I'm doing that..But, doctor prescribed me to take them for 3 months along with Omega 3..That's why I'm asking this..

Why dont you control your diet..it will be easier that way

Actually, I wasn't aware of any side effects at that moment.. I got to know about it later by my friend.. I hope to discuses with my doctor at the next time I visit him..But, my appointment is after 2 months

That medicinal drug that has no side effects has not yet been discovered.
 
Statins have a lot of side effects

If you're obese the best and most risk free way out is to reduce carbohydrate consumption until BMI is normal
