Hata wewe ni kadynasty,si unajua najua your grandpa?Silage is the best. However, it's very expensive to use it as the only animal feed. Hay (boma rhodes) and/or dry maize stalks can be added in a ratio of 1:1:1. Halafu a good mix of wheat bran, cotton cake(canola or soya), maize jam and salt mineral to make up the concentrate which is fed during milking. This mixture is where conmen are ripping off farmers. They play around with the ratios and add substandards like rice jam, sunflower husks instead of the ground seeds, minerals from unheard of companies that could kill your animals etc etc. Heri kujiundia.
If you want to delve into this business, make a name for yourself first. Sell quality feeds and mixtures kama Unga group with their Afya Bora feeds and Bidco company with their Bidco feeds. Once you earn the confidence of a few farmers they'll market your business themselves. Chungaa tu tamaa.

For comparison, nilibeba one roll of silage inauzwa pale Kakuzi and another being baled by a Luxembourger pale Moiben. The European had better quality probably because all the maize cobs were ground together or they had bigger cobs coz of the variety.
