Us hillbillies want to sound hip like our urban relatives. We don't like to be identified as ruralites because ruralness is equated with being uninformed, unrefined, crude, coarse, naive. In fact the town slang word for all these is ushamba.
We will identify with a product identified with the urban hip because that way we will feel like we are part of the urban hip and also hide our ushambaness.

But with the proliferation of cheap/affordable internet, the narrative that watu wa mashamba are uneducated and uninformed is fast losing grip. A curious guy in mashamba knows the happenings of nairobi more than the residents bora anaingia forums na anafollow the right people on shosho media.

Lexicon. @Meria I though senators passed a resolution that the senate have as much as anyone else regard the Lexicon in the County assembly' s archives. What are you doing about that?

The perception will take long to be erased.

I really would want to know how this informs people. I have been on twitter for a year now and have tried to follow the people whose opinions of things I thought I would want to hear but let me say I am very disappointed. Kenyan "intellectuals" sacrifice their intellectualism at the altar of their political and tribal bias.

You don't need to hear anything meaningful to be informed. The fact that you understand the info given is not meaningful is enough to keep you informed.

I have, let me tell you Maina! I was attacked by their groupies and hanger-on, we are slowly becoming an intolerant society, contrary opinion is attacked vehemently, for example just try saying that you support BBI for example in These streets uone.
I see you've been there. And you named them properly -groupies and hangers-on. Some even have nothing to say but tell you that you did not understand the tweet and that you should read it again! :ROFLMAO:

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: while you know that the more you explain the less they will understand or rather choose to misunderstand you.

.Ke Twirra long ceased to have any meaningful discourse since everyone on that forum is just "savage". The likes of ndii and miguna have reduced it to a slug fest venue. Woe to you if you question/contradict their opinions...same na pale kwa ma mca!
