Police Boss & Driver Shot Dead

A Chief Inspector in charge of the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) in Kapedo and his driver were on Thursday evening, January 22, shot dead at Ameyan bridge in Tiaty constituency, Baringo County.

Their demise was confirmed by Rift Valley regional commissioner George Natembeya who indicated that they were ambushed while on their way to Kapedo trading center to join the team of multi-agency security personnel.

Executing criminals has not brought crime to an end in Nairobi or Mombasa, just periods of relative calm then boom, violent crime spikes

Neither will it work with the Pokot, for them banditry is a way of life, it has become part of their culture and the terrain favours them, trying to exterminate them will be an expensive and very bloody affair.

The smart approach is to cut off their weapons supply, arrest and prosecute the traders who use them to steal cows and buy them on the cheap, take away both the incentive and power you will have incapacitated them at little cost and preserving lives

Insecurity in kapendo and other parts of our country have history. My great concern is the poor Kenyans being the victims. Kenya government must at all costs protect these poor Kenyans. How can thugs dare kill our security officers ? It's totally unacceptable !
