300 for a kilo of "live weight" is not same as a kilo of clean carcass. Pigs lose 26-28 weight when slaughtered. It kind of evens out.

I don't know but let's blame untamed inflation guided by inappropriate policies. Touch fuel & everything becomes skewed and unpredictable. From online in laws, and a few butcheries it's very likely a kilo will be 1000 by early/mid next year. Already there are butcheries doing 900 per kg in Nairobi.
