๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - The Government of Kenya has officially designated two campuses of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) in Masalani as protected areas.
This designation was made through a legal notice published in the Kenya Gazette on May 16, 2025, under the Protected Areas Act (Cap. 204).
The order, titled The Masalani National Intelligence Service Campus Protected Area Order, 2025, was issued by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen.
The legal notice declares that access to the designated areas will now be restricted and regulated by law.
According to the notice, no person shall enter the protected areas, places, or premises without permission from the prescribed authority.
The prescribed authority has been identified as the Director General of the National Intelligence Service.
