IPP's are paid in FX and not Kenya Shillings. That is where they mitigate the weakening of the shilling vis a vis the dollar.

For Ksh 100 one would get 6.27 now you only get 5.19 more than a unit gone

There are two different tariffs so for me personally, I moved into a new house with 0 previous consumption in May and started off well, now I have to spend 3K monthly.
I've also scrolled up to earlier KPLC messages and I'm shocked with the discrepancy month by month.

Look at the fuel and forex charge. You can thank the IPP's for that. Those expensive diesel generators must be paid for.

Kwa pigsty huko jua Kali sector unawekewa 4 meters by @Mongrel. You do load distribution between them. I have never tried this method and I strongly discourage you from trying it .
