Si it will still consume the same costly fuel.
Fuel has increased by 19%. But the matatus have increased fare by 30% per passenger.

To justify a hike, you would need to know the cost of operating a business. I'm not sure whether the matatu industry had adjusted fares in response to the past rise in fuel cost. A rise in fuel costs has increased the overall cost of doing business (bribes, spares, labour, credit etc).
Schools operate using different rules. They don't treat buses as profit centers. Some of them even subsidize their buses.

I support increase of taxes on beer to over 80% tax. Parking in Nairobi City should be increased to atleast 2k per day to increase city revenue. Also taxes on petrol should be increased too to cover for a reduced price for diesel
Correct.
I also support taxing on churches, and implimenting the law on noise pollution fully.

Kuna period hapo katikati they shouldered the rise. Route yangu the fares to town haven't changed, ni ile bei ya 2019, 80 peak, hamsini off peak. Uki bargain ata 30 wanachukua off peak.
They need to increase parking rates in the city centre for personal vehicles...that is the only way to decongest and regulate it

I agree, but for every stick, there needs to be a carrot. There is no two ways about letting unregulated private sector players run public transport in the city

There is a limit to taxes that can be levied without making counterfeiting too attractive. Higher taxes will make it more profitable for tax evaders. More tax evasion encourages KRA and other authorities to hire more people and deploy more funds towards compliance.
