These guys are not after salaries. It's more to do what they can influence within the organisation to go their way ( employment, tenders etc)

Not entirely correct. The board position of NSSF is reserved for the most representative workers organisation. But that doesn't mean that the position must be held by the SG. COTU has the choice of handing that board seat to anyone.
