It is only 300 kilometres in the sky above and yet it's simultaneously visible to observers all over that circled large area!

Easy!
It mostly burns up before the remaining debris hit the ground!
Those remaining debris will be scattered over several kilometres depending on the direction and the strength of the prevailing winds.

The International Space Station travels in orbit around Earth at a speed of roughly 17,150 miles per hour (that's about 5 miles per second!). This means that the Space Station orbits Earth (and sees a sunrise) once every 92 minutes!
