Isn't This The Landrover Defender Sneaking Back?

To be honest,the new LR Defender looks cheith.it looks like a heavily pregnant cat. They should have maintained the exact old design (including approach,break over and departure angles)but with the modern instruments,like led lights,airbags etc.

They would get to capture a market of people who love the G class but can't afford it,and get to compete directly with the G 350D.
 
This is the timeline:

1. Ratcliffe got drunk in a bar with a pal

2. Ratcliffe remembered he had a tonne of money

3. Ratcliffe remembered the Defender was going out of production

4. Ratcliffe was sad that such an iconic car was coming to an end when old warhorses such as the LC70 and the Benz G Class were still soldiering on profitably

5. Ratcliffe decided to act

6. Ratcliffe got drunk again and decided to start a car company under his petrochemical megacorp

7. Lacking a name for the car, Ratcliffe named it after the bar he was getting drunk in, called The Grenadier

8. Ratcliffe took his pile of money to Land Rover and offered to buy the tooling for the now dead Defender

9. Ratcliffe was told to get lost by Land Rover

10. Ratcliffe got lost as instructed

11. Ratcliffe remembered he didn't become successful by giving up easily

12. Ratcliffe said to hell with Land Rover and started work on the now-baptized Grenadier 4x4

13. Land Rover caught wind of what Ratcliffe was up to

14. Land Rover decided to put an end to that bullshit immediately

15. Land Rover took Ratcliffe to court over copyright infringement

16. Land Rover was told to get lost by e court in a spectacular display of karma coming back to bite you

17. Ratcliffe laughed his ass off

18. Ratcliffe sent me an email asking if I can attend a Zoom meeting with his people so that he can talk to me about the Grenadier

19. Ratcliffe didn't actually email me, it's his assistant called Astrid who did

20. Astrid is the head of Ineos' motor division in sub-Saharan Africa. I honor her invite but she makes me sign an NDA saying I won't mention anything about this until the midnight going into July 1st 2020

21. Land Rover continues to suffer indignity from insults thrown at them over the pile of 💩 they call the new Defender

22. To add insult to injury, TATA says if anybody wants to buy Land Rover from them, they should inbox for price

23. Here we are now with Land Rover fans trying to grab back a little face by claiming the Ineos Grenadier is a rehashed Defender

It may look like a Defender but it's not a Defender. Also it's generating a lot of excitement globally following the reveal
 
Nice silent coup by Ratcliffe there. What was Land Rover thinking by getting jettisoning such an iconic machine for the non-starter below?
