Ole is annoyed about fixture congestion and impact on players, Klopp and Pep agree

Luke Shaw confirmed out for a month, and so is Trent

Situation still not clear about Rashford and Lindelof

there are those who are of the opinion that the teams have a 25 man team where only 11 players start all the games and the other 14 rarely play.
this is the time where the other 14 players come into play. rotate the squad, give the regulars resting time, and the non-regulars playing time and confidence.

where is Oghalo and the other 13 players we rarely see on the pitch?

same to the other clubs, where are the rest of the team members.

Yeah, what you say is true.
I think that part of it could be fan expectations in the age of social media.

Any small thing is heavily scrutinized by people who are far removed from the actual situation, which limits the space for experimentation.

Start fringe players and get kicked in the butt by teams that start their best players? No thanks.

What are fringe players doing on the benches of professional clubs?
Many factors can determine whether a player is benched or not, style of play, how they complement other players, fitness level, form, unique qualities, amount of experience, the opposing side's setup etc

Would you rather see Salah at the top of his game upfront and Alisson making superhuman saves at the other end, or would you rather watch some nondescript Danny boy missing open goals on one end while some butter-fingers goalkeeper spills tame shots on the other end?

The point is, players have different levels of physical and mental stamina.

If a Virgil is expected to defend against the wit and speed of a Messi on a Tuesday, then an Aguero on Saturday, then a Ronaldo the following Tuesday, it's easy to see how he might fail to defend against a Rashford the following weekend.

There's a reason why teams have a 25-man A squad. All the 25 are usually top level players that really cannot be called fringe.

C'mon. You can't seriously be of such a wild opinion. I can name so many fringe players at United. Lingard, Jones, Ighalo, Dalot and Perreira who are currently out on loan.

Fringe doesn't mean they are not top-level players, it means they are not a reliable component of the team either due to their injury record, poor performances or better young players who have solidified a place in the senior squad.

Logically, you wouldn't throw in a Phil Jones into the defence even against Newcastle amd risk him fucking up as he usually does.
