Did you know that the Nyayo High-rise estate is built on a mass grave?
In 1952, the state of emergency was declared by the British colonial government of the day in its bid to contain the MauMau revolution.
Nairobi became ground zero and thousands of people including my own grandfather and grandmother fell victim as they had been on a business trip in the city that day.
Relatives recall rivers of blood literally flowing through the streets of Nairobi during the massacre.

To cut a long story short, the area where Nyayo High-rise estate sits today was designated a mass grave where all the victims including my grandparents were buried.
They were not to Rest in peace thanks to Moi's greed.
He grabbed the mass grave and built Nyayo High-rise estate.

The rest is history.
If you live in Nyayo High-rise estate, now you know.

I will endeavour to pass on the little knowledge I have every week as a duty in educating the young generation about their historical legacy.
We need to write our own history.

I've learnt something today. Unless we as black people own our history we shall continue being disregarded as subhumans.

There is another mass grave in Kirenga, Lari, that nobody dares grab.

Wazi @Kabuda .
Stories are rife about several high schools upcountry being built next to ancient burial grounds.
I remember my astonishment experiencing first hand, villagers beating on sufurias to ward off evil spirits, aka nyawawa.
An invisible man shouted, "Mak mwanda no!"
(Catch that antelope!)
😁😁
@It's Me Scumbag , I had not been inducted into the school of WD40 so these were not hallucinations.

Even the buildings near Nova hotel as you enter kiambu from Nairobi, this was a graveyard.
Imagine living in a graveyard !

About these people; we don't know them, where they came from, or what they were fighting about. They should be dug up and replaced with trees, just to make a blunt point.
