Then they'll cry nyanza is underdeveloped, it's time for lobbying for projects. Politics is give and take

So Nyanza taxpayers will be punished because their leaders refused to be present in a church service attended by a president! That's why devolution must be made to work 100%. it's not like they missed a project/ development meeting. It was a church service for Christ sake.

Respect usually goes along way. It's politics, you show up for semantics. Remember we're a tribal country, all other regions are looking at the no show by the elected leaders.

You are clearly missing the inclusivity aspect of it. Ruto went there to show and tell the people that their perspective of not being included in government since mtu yao hako is an illusion. That he is a president for all. Then what do the Luo politicians do? They build on that perception by running away.

Freedom will come to Luo Nyanza eventually with the young crop of leaders shunning Odingaism.

and strategic forum to clear political mistrust laying future development forum ! Do you expect the president to invite Homa Bay leaders in state house ? Dr Ruto is smart !

Not even one MCA attended or are we missing something here but it hard to imagine after 5 election losses the leaders of nyanza region are still scared of raila on the flipside a sitting president could not even win in his own polling station

North Eastern and its leaders were very much supportive of Moi throughout his presidency. But it was until Kibaki came in that they started saying they felt now they were part of Kenya. Why? Because of the development that was being taken there.

This one of welcoming the president that you are propagating as inclusivity is sycophancy!

Ruto has a manifesto. If he wants the people of Nyanza to feel included in government let him implement it fairly.

Well said and articulated.
So, in this new dispensation shall everybody be expected to cancel or put off their itinerary, planned many months and weeks before, just because the “glorious leader” has decided to pay a brief and unannounced visit to our domiciles?

Apparently that’s how Moi justified marginalising certain locales.

Attend a church service in order to clear political mistrust. Hmm. Does opposition politics have a space in Kenya?

KANU may be politically dead. But the spirit seems to be well alive!

You can't even compare Moi and Kibaki. Moi destroyed while Kibaki built.

What you are failing to see is that it doesn't matter the projects you do in Kisumu. Without political goodwill of leaders and the citizens, you will have another NYS/Kibera moment where they destroyed the infrastructure that was erected.

People must feel ownership. That is why I appreciate leaders like Ochieng from NDG.

Yes. But religious events are the main vehicle for interacting with the locals and leadership in a shared forum.

Because that's when utapata Wanjiku gathered together.

Missing out on such events (weddings/funerals/church service) is missing out on getting one on one time with the Head of State is quite a foolish thing to do.
