A team of businesspeople from Githurai, Nairobi County, have called out Deputy President, William Ruto, for pledging Ksh2 million to the business community and failing to deliver.

The group who spoke to journalists on Friday, January 7, claimed they were mobilized to attend the Deputy President's meeting where he sold his hustler narrative and presidential ambitions.

During the meeting, the DP promised that he would give the Githurai businesspeople Ksh2 million.

According to the leaders, they were told to wait for a week and the money would be deposited to them. The transport sector was to receive Ksh1 million and the market sector would get Ksh1 million as per the agreement reached with DP Ruto.

"We want everyone from Githurai Business Community to understand what has happened. The DP promised Ksh2 million to the business community.

"Down here on the ground it has been very difficult to us leaders because everybody keeps saying we were given the money and shared it amongst ourselves. Others are accusing us of getting wheelbarrows and selling them," the leaders stated.

They also called the integrity of leaders to question, noting that they should not make pledges they know they will not fulfill.

"We never got that money and it is very wrong for a leader to make promises that they don't intend to fulfill. These are the same leaders who want to be elected and lead this country but they can't honor their words. If they can't do the small things, will they handle the big responsibilities for the whole of Kenya?" They posed.

The donations are just hot air to please the crowds. Hata kwa kanisa am informed that bishop anapewa 1m infront of cameras alafu baadaye anaambiwa arudishe but achukue yake 100k for the PR. So the 1m is donated many many times in different places.
