Two guards of a residential apartment in Springvalley, Nairobi were on Sunday, September 25, 2022, placed in custody and are helping the police to conduct investigations after they were held captive by robbers who went away with approximately ksh606,000 from two residents of the apartment. According to a police report, one of the victims identified as Ashit Shah drove into the residence and was ushered in by strangers who held the guards captive. The three robbers who were armed with a pistol then ordered him to lead them to his house where they robbed him of cash ksh500,000 and jewelry of unknown value. They then ordered him to take them to the next neighbouring house of the second victim identified as Nihal Shah and they robbed him of cash of ksh70,000, 300vUS dollars, and jewelry of unknown value. "While driving to his residence, Ashit reported that he was ushered in by strangers armed with a pistol and had been taken captive by his two guards. They ordered him to the house and robbed him of cash, ksh 500,000 and jewelry of unknown value. Ashit was then ordered to take them to his neighbor's house where they robbed him of cash, ksh70,000, 300 US dollars and jewelry of unknown value," the police report stated. The trio then escaped to a nearby bush across river Mwamuto. The two guards identified as Haron Maiga and Zephania Ratemo are in custody helping the police with the investigation.
