One thing I like about Uhuru is that he stood his ground most of the time when it came to the IMF/ World Bank.

Be it mambo ya exchange rate, fuel taxes, subsidies etc. Huyu aliingia na those Bretton woods institutions wakisema jump anauliza how high.

Thank you @Okiya,
Kibaki and Kenyatta II insisted on our sovereignty as a Nation State and also cared about social-implications of Bretton Woods’ recipe on the poorest.

This regime should be rightly branded Nyayo II for disregarding the adverse effects of restructuring and recommendations of Bretton Woods.
But this is not a surprise to many. I am reliably told that Moi, due to Kalenjinisation and not employing qualified Staff, used to send semi-literate guys to sign our agreements and loans with IMF and World Bank. This is what is happening right now. This is why our Currency and economy has gone to the dogs Banae.

And did the Country get screwed nicely and proper?
Those who were there that time can attest.
