Usually it's the white folks labeling people yet they're also immigrants. Natives (ironically, also a label) are the rightful owners of that term.

That's correct. I actually have an acquaintance who's ethnic German, born and raised in Kenya, and he's more Kenyan than many of us due to his high levels of patriotism and local investments. Labels suck.
