Funny but Formula 1 has been held in Africa numerous times unlike NBA and was only suspended due to ujinga ya Apartheid.
Anyway, maybe Mutua will really build a racing circuit in Machakos
On a serious note, having attended 3 GPs myself, the level of infrastructure and initial funding would make no economic sense

Perhaps the Elitist tag is due to the sport being very very narrow in terms of participants?

I mean, with a globally acclaimed sport having just 20 participants is quite something... exceeding even the likes of golf (The greatest of all time is black) and female tennis where the GOAT is also black.

So having Lewis who's technically the 1st and the very best of F1 drivers being nyeuthi drives (pun much intended) a sense of pride in supporting a fellow ne-grow..
