The Chinese have spotted the huge gap in housing availability worldwide, and once again they are going for this opportunity full steam. Chinese-made expandable houses are gaining traction in various markets worldwide, including the United States, largely to their affordability and convenience. Picture this, a 20ft by 20ft (2 bedrooms) goes for about $10,000, which is the equivalent of an year's rent for an average worker. The larger version (20ft by 40ft (3 bedrooms)) goes for $15,000, which is still very affordable.
With further improvements, this new trend could transform the way people own houses. A cheap, movable house solves multiple problems in society. Individuals and institutions will no longer perceive housing as an expensive, immovable asset.
