these are just samples am sure there are other hundreds of mps ,senators and governors doing the same. Also our beloved president did it in sugoi yesterday and today.,Am sure rigathi is also doing it. including leader of minority.

It's a good gesture but wouldn't it be more beneficial to the public if for the December period they reduce the various taxes on foodstuffs ,even fuel? They can do it if they really want.
Also those donations/gifts aren't coming from their savings .

correct ,that's why I said, they could have reduced taxes even for a month. since a big chunk of the public are in need or pressed by high prices.
After all, the rich have been given import waivers to import foodstuffs.

no one has criticized the donor but simply said they've the power to reduce taxes and food prices can easily come down.
Excise tax was just increased in October by parliament through inflation tax.

The donors have given you Unga and foodstuffs to last for a week. Next year the remaining fuel subsidies kaput. They have the power to make fuel cheaper but they won't. You'll see them again on 24 December 2023 with a week's worth of food after undergoing suffering for a full year
