these are just samples am sure there are other hundreds of mps ,senators and governors doing the same. Also our beloved president did it in sugoi yesterday and today.,Am sure rigathi is also doing it. including leader of minority.

It's a good gesture but wouldn't it be more beneficial to the public if for the December period they reduce the various taxes on foodstuffs ,even fuel? They can do it if they really want.
Also those donations/gifts aren't coming from their savings .
 
If you can afford food comfortably, always and really good food, you are good to go. There are lots of people who survive on nothing really like good food.

correct ,that's why I said, they could have reduced taxes even for a month. since a big chunk of the public are in need or pressed by high prices.
After all, the rich have been given import waivers to import foodstuffs.
 
You should not criticize the donor if yourself didn't give
no one has criticized the donor but simply said they've the power to reduce taxes and food prices can easily come down.
Excise tax was just increased in October by parliament through inflation tax.

We shouldn't be at their mercies and waiting for handouts.
