Good people. What are the main issues of owning a diesel car here in Kenya? Are they easier to maintain that petrol cars? What should one be on the look out for?
And almost all of them hushinda kwa mechanic, thats why am asking whether there is anything to look out for in such cars that petrol cars dont haveDo u know that 95 % of all matatus in kenya are diesel powered.the other 5 % are in the yards or running with a for sale sign
everything shud be wrong in any car if u dont take care of itAnd almost all of them hushinda kwa mechanic, thats why am asking whether there is anything to look out for in such cars that petrol cars dont have

@The.Black.Templar go for it . Join forums for that specific make and model and you will have an easy time . Most probably the forums will not be local . Kenyans are peculiar people there was a time i offered to build a web based forum instead of the whatsapp and telegram group and the majority were against that idea.
Sisemi hana pesa but the showroom price is way up there compared to an ex japan .Pale CMC bei ni from KES 5,200,000.00lakini abuy mpya
What about volvo? @Johny walkerYani umeweka Ile model anataka kubuy .![]()

Hehehe, we are assuming ni mimi, anyway i have had bad stories about diesel engines, ndio maana nauliza, wengine wanasema diesel inauzwa hapa kenya ni substandard zinaharibu engines piaSisemi hana pesa but the showroom price is way up there compared to an ex japan .Pale CMC bei ni from KES 5,200,000.00
Mazda seems to be doing something right with their transmissions (especially after they started to build them in-house - available from 2015 - current models)Hehehe, we are assuming ni mimi, anyway i have had bad stories about diesel engines, ndio maana nauliza, wengine wanasema diesel inauzwa hapa kenya ni substandard zinaharibu engines pia
Kushinda kwa mechanic haimaanishi engine ndio shida. And anyway, with matatus being on the road for a good number of hours everyday, the rate of wear and tear is increased exponentially. Kuenda garage ni lazima for maintenance. And almost all of them hushinda kwa mechanic, thats why am asking whether there is anything to look out for in such cars that petrol cars dont have
Mpya in kenyan language ni yenye imegonga 8 yrs pale japanSisemi hana pesa but the showroom price is way up there compared to an ex japan .Pale CMC bei ni from KES 5,200,000.00
Sina experience na volvo to be honest. But i hav a friend who imported a station wagon.sijaona ikiwa na shida yoyote isipokua za kutokana na fobeWhat about volvo? @Johny walker
It's not because of maintainance completely , it's the cost of running a biz with, that is high if you use a petrol engine.Do u know that 95 % of all matatus in kenya are diesel powered.the other 5 % are in the yards or running with a for sale sign
Diesel engines are OK but problem is the quality of our diesel and one more important thing, is how to maintain that engine kama ni hizi european imports.Sawa, so mumesema diesel engines are OK?
