Ministry of Health has announce that at least 400 Kenyans have registered for Covid-19 vaccine trial.
The vaccine, which is being researched by KEMRI in conjunction with Kilifi Wellcome Trust targets 60,000 participants.
Last week, sever Kenyans announced that their blood samples were collected for a possible Covid antibodies after they recovered from the virus. The exercise is voluntary.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe while in a health committee said that Kenya was researching on its vaccine and that he had reservations about the pfizer vaccine which by then was announced to be 95% effective.
Earlier this month, another vaccine, Moderna was announced to be 94% effective and that trial in USA was underway.
Kenya announced its first Covid-19 case in March and has so far recorded 78,512 cases.
