The reason he chose him over Kindiki in 2022 is because he knew he was a grassroots politician and a great mobilizer whose got the financial muscles. They would have sidelined him and stopped funding his office the way Uhuru did. An idle Gachagua is a very dangerous man & a threat to Ruto.

It's now been 10 weeks since he was last seen in Mt. Kenya, which is very unusual for Ruto. They have come to realization that Kindiki is as useless as a cabbage in Mt Kenya influence.
It seems the Ruto has started to regret because word has it that he's burning the midnight oil trying to look for Uhuru to calm the mountain.
