Can we do away with Boarding schools?

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General says we should do away with boarding schools and every child be made to learn at a day school within their locality.

Don't say you never saw this coming.

works perfectly in developed countries because resources are more or less evenly distributed in those countries... sasa hapa kenya mtoto anaishi kikuyu will have access to AHS na wale wako samburu? Kieni? Rachuonyo?

The schools in those regions are in poor shape because the children of the elite who control the resource purses take their children to kenya high, maseno, mang'u and and Strath. If their children went to local schools they would ensure the schools were well equipped and had teachers incentivized to stay.

It's a narrative we can't wish away. What happened to the pilot study that was once done of day scholars in boarding and national schools?

Unfortunately,i didn't attend any boarding school throughout my education life but i think its a good idea to do away with.My brother used to sneak everytime and come home and he could tell the tale behind the boarding school painfully.
