CAUTION!!!
The DCI wishes to caution members of the public living in Witeithie area of Juja, Kiambu County of a roaming Cackle of Hyenas that is already causing deadly attacks on the residents.

Whereas a multi-agency team of security personnel drawn from the National Police Service, Kenya Wildlife Service and other local law enforcement agencies has been dispatched to handle the dangerous predators and prevent further attacks on people, we urge locals to remain cautious.

This caution follows a sad incident reported to police at 5am today of a 29-year-old man who was mauled to death by the cackle of about 20 hyenas within Kamuthi area on his way home from Komu quarry. The victim's counterpart narrowly escaped by the skin of his teeth.

Huku joska/Malaa we interact with them every night.
We hear them laughing through the night, ole wako for poorly constructed sheep/goat pens.
Several cases have been reported.
Children are not to be left home alone at night
