Its been over 25yrs since the last space jam. We all wanted a sequel back then and the good news is we finally got it. The bad news, it's a festering wound of maggotty trash. If this is the new legacy, then it died at birth.
Space Jam 2 has Lebron James in the lead battling an algorithim played by Don Cheadle who had his feelings hurt and basically kidnaps Lebron, his son and the basically the entirety of humanity and transports them into the Warner Bos "Server-verse".
Al G. Rithm (least imaginative name ever) challenges Lebron to a game of basketball, (designed by Lebron's son) to earn their freedom. Lebron recruits the looney toons to be in his squad and from there we have a basic rehash of the original Space Jam.
The acting is trash. Lebron cant act to save a drowning fish. It's painfully obvious that all humans are struggling to interact with their digital counterparts. The movie is Warner Bros boasting about what intellectual property they own, and keep shoving it in your face.
Kids between 6-12 years of age will definitely enjoy the show, anyone above that will feel every joke lands flat, even the looney toon's antics will feel very forced in this piece.
I only managed one chuckle in it's 115min run time.
If you watched the original as a kid, steer clear of this one. If you didnt, steer clear and watch the original.
Don't watch it in theatres, streaming devices or torrent it.
