Hello, in April I decided to expand my bulb onion project and the first thing I did is site selection.

I choose this land that is slightly sloppy to avoid flooding , the land is also near the tarmac so accessing the farm with a car is easy .
ploughing started Thou it was raining, and because the land was virgin land I had to use this harrow tractor to do harrowing ( the process of making soil fine ) to enable onions roots penetrate deep in the soil

Using a three disc plough tractor I started making beds, it's always my secret because using hands will take long and will be costly. It's easier to do it with a tractor and now use rakes to flatten after manure application.

To save on cost i had to be the one loading manure to the wheelbarrows as my team takes it to the main farm and scatter it on the beds.
And our beds were ready . We had also to dig big farrows along the farm to let water flow to a nearby dam (I will show you later).
