BOARDING schools' principals to reside in the institutions

They should also assign police patrol in the schools. This would be more effective
@The.Black.Templar,
What do you really, really stand for in civic and governance? You are a serial complainer on many initiatives the government takes to mitigate risks eg Covid-19.
And lo and behold, here you are asking for more government’s interventions.
Do you want to live in a police state where police regulate every facet of our lives? After we get the police to patrol schools, where else shall be next? Family homesteads, SJ, Modern Green? Violence and robbery do occur there you know?

What happened to the good old personal discipline and responsibility?

That was just a suggestion, seeing that the police are used everywhere else like protecting exam papers, guarding banks and malls, why not just spare some additional personnel to patrol the schools too, why is that such a bad idea?

In civilised communities folks are assumed to be able to police themselves in every day ordinary affairs. After all most people are good and well intentioned. You can’t have enforcement at every activity we engage in.
How many police shall we need if we go down this road - a proliferation of authoritarianism?
Parents have a legal responsibility to instil discipline and respect of other peoples property. To act otherwise is dereliction of legal duty of care.

But they can occur in un-predictable number of schools nationally!
there is a police station within the vicinity or walking distance of most boarding schools in the country, if they are able to keep watch on all banks and their branches everyday, boarding schools should be very easy
