There will always be something wrong. The maps are outdated by a decade or so.

Weird how they went with such outdated base data maybe the guys at survey have not updated their local data, and they wanted the two to match. There will always be something wrong. The maps are outdated by a decade or so.
The maps are as updated as 2018...i think that is close enoughThere will always be something wrong. The maps are outdated by a decade or so.
If you are using your mobile phone it will not be as great because you can click on the road and it will give you the name of the road...also not that this is a roads map, not a map of places. The key also lets you know what category of road you are looking at, it will also let you know how many times you need to zoom in to see a certain class of roadsCartographic design needs to be improved. Provide more contextual information as the user zooms in. For example, labels of local places so that the user "doesn't get lost" while panning and zooming. Its a good effort but not as sleek as the government portal or the Kiambu one (can't remember the url).

true, there has been a push to make such information available, this is some of the information that was in some was deliberately kept hidden or hard to find, and its information that some people in the right places have used to very good effect, for investment purposes and have benefited greatly. Its a good step, trying to get local data can be a challenge one at times has to rely on some NGO's work.Their road data should be the most authoritative, so they should invest more in data collection and update (surveys). Other government actors should also do the same in their AORs. This will improve the national spatial data infrastructure which is very useful for decision making.

its good step, but it still a bit slow, and I dont know why they have to place any data download behind a firewall, and they also seem to have gone a long way in trying to keep the data veiled, never understood that part of the public institutions, this should be publicly available data, also available for use by third parties it can really benefit some sectorsIf you are using your mobile phone it will not be as great because you can click on the road and it will give you the name of the road...also not that this is a roads map, not a map of places. For me it checks all the boxes on functionality and clarity of purpose
