GEORGE MUCHIRI KARIUKI hails from Rironi in Limuru constituency. On 6th September, 2020, at 7pm, he was abducted by armed bandits at Jameson Corner in South Sudan. This is after his truck was shot at and deflated in the front tyres.

A few hours later he contacted his wife Faith W Muchiri and informed her that the bandits want USD 5,000 dollars to release him. We have gone ahead and contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but we are not sure how soon they will act on this matter.
Unfortunately, George is being mistreated in the hands of the bandits. As we pursue this matter from all angles, we humbly request for any assistance that can go towards settling the ransom so as to secure his safety and release.

It is best to engage the local leaders in that general area and find out what social amenities can be set up like water points, schools, police stations etc.

On the flipside, it can make them think twice anytime they come across Kenyans. Why negotiate with people who want to profit from you simply because they wield the threat of violence?

Show them you have a bigger stick that can visit violence on them. They'll treat you with respect. If it means kila mtu akae kwao, hao ndio wataumia zaidi.
