Most developers think they're naturally born engineers and architects.
Whoever approved that building should be found and squeezed.
Corruption at the council offices is slowly costing lives but being Kenya no one in authority is questioning how buildings are just collapsing.

The building pancaked at night. Most of the floors up there are stores for the shops down. Nobody was injured.

A friend, baba shiku, has rented the entire sixth floor as a store for his various shoe outlets. He brought in a whole container two weeks ago akaimwaga yote hapo. Normally, he pays like 10m cash then the balance (around 20m) he pays as he makes sales. Insurance is a foreign word in Kamukunji.

At the close of the day last evening, he had salvaged around 140 cartons, from his stock of around 6000 cartons. At 2am this morning, he had to be rushed to hospital.
