Here are the pots for the draw to be held today.

There will be a 1-2-3-4 in each initial group. “The group stage”. There will be 8 groups. All 4 teams will play each other once. 3 matches. After that the top 2 will advance to the knockout stage. (Single elimination) 16 teams.

Added stipulation: you can't play against anyone from your region (Europe is exempt from that rule) in your group. So if USA was drawn for Group C and Canada was drawn next, since they can't be in that group Canada would be allocated to Group D.

This cup should just be renamed the Extended European Cup!
Clearly it’s biased against African and Asian teams despite their huge populations!
If it was a true World Cup we would be having equal representation from every continent!
Anyway last time I watched and followed it was in 2002 and these days as soon as expected African teams exit the tournament I lose interest and only maybe catch the final!

I remember the tournament very well. Senegal beating the champs France in the 1st game. They went all the way to the quarters and lost to a golden goal I think vs Croatia.
The best bit was Ronaldinho announcing himself to the World and Brazil beating in the final. Oh and Ronaldo the original's hairstyle.

Only thing to dislike was the timing. Lol game zilikuwa ngware inabidi ujifanye mgonjwa ndio usiende chuo

I thought Ronaldinho announced himself during the England game with that half pitch free kick. The finals against Germany was purely a Ronaldo show reminding us who he was after the 98 drama. Anyway,I know quite a number of Kenyans travelling to Qatar for the WC experience
