That is the one thing that kept me at KT; I could spend an hour or two going through the archives as there was quite a wealth of information. Then they started butchering it by deleting photos, then of course completely closed it to visitors with the downgrade; I call it a downgrade because the site is less usable now than at any time in the past.

Are you supposed to keep scrolling to find that one thread till you hit thousands of posts? Don’t talk about search cos there’s a very good chance you aren’t looking for anything in particular, just going through archives. The way the information is presented in this format is completely not fit for any meaningful purpose.

I saw someone trying to defend the infinite scrolling as “the one feature that will keep users on the site”, and I think it’s absolutely nonsense. You can’t go beyond 10 maybe 20 threads before you completely lose interest.

Users know exactly what they want; when you sneakily try to take control away from the user, the user will have the tendency to withdraw from interacting with the site.
