You have to give it to Iranians. They have managed to develop a formidable defense industry despite crippling sanctions from the West. If it were not for these sanctions, Iran would probably be a power center with far-reaching influence across the globe. It could also be argued that the sanctions have triggered survival instincts in the country, pushing it to achieve feats it could not without pressure. Notably, the country has invested disproportionately in air defenses and short and long-range missiles, which enable its forces to project fear further than they should, against parties who should feel safer. Rumors doing rounds suggest an impending possible attack against Iran's nuclear facilities by Israel. In response, Iran has promised a crashing retaliation against all centers, bases, spaces, and routes aiding any such aggression. This message is directed at Arab nations, such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and UAE, all of which have recently regularized relations with Israel.

A war against Iran will be a miscalculation of Biblical proportions. For a start the country cannot be conquered, it's too big, too populous and too mountaneous.

Secondly, it would see the global economy collapse as Iran bombed oil fields in Saudia and elsewhere and blocked the Straits of Hormutz.

Thirdly, it would see war in the Middle East as never before as proxies in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Palestine joined the fray, lobbing rockets at Israel and blocking the Red Sea.

Fourthly, Islamic terrorists in Europe and America would be re-energised, unleashing terror like never before.

The only way Iran can be defeated is through nukes, and that too would have unprecedented consequences....

They do not need to do anything to provoke China. China has been on a revenge mission since 1840, when it was forced to buy opium from the British. At some appropriate point in future, China will remind everyone that Australia is in Asia, and no one will do anything about it, the same way it has laid claim to the South China sea. Correct but the biggest deterrent to any attack against Iran is geography and its deadly allies.
