In my opinion, what drives one to brand others is lack of knowledge. We need to study both parties' (the one branding, and the one being branded) view without bias. Personally, if someone calls me a "Kaffir", I would choose not to get emotionally attached as it is likely to stir up one to hatred for individuals and in extreme cases lead to violence.
