UoN plans to develop idle land in hunt for revenue

UoN is looking for investors to help it develop and unlock value in its idle land and other assets in a bid to diversify revenue streams and stem cash flow hitches.

These universities have immense intellectual property gathering dust in libraries, departments and wherever else they put thesis on. Why can't they go through their IP, find something that would give them a competitive moat and execute on that. UoN likes to compare itself to MIT, CalTech and other such calibres but don't seem to do anything much with their IP. Why say they're promoting research if they have no will to commercialize and bend govt ear to them. UoN created an incubation lab for student ideas but I think it's a terrible way to go about it.

Universities mandate is academics and research. Hio maneno ingine ya going into business is no no. If govt can fund Primary and secondary education, it should also fund public university education and also all the other tertially colleges. How come they never tell Primary and secondary school head teachers to generate funds to run their schools?
