As we start the countdown to the end of this year, I think one thing we can all agree on is that it was an annus horribilis (shemales, this has nothing to do with that hole between the gluteus maximus).

There was Covid, there was the economic meltdown for most of us, and for some reason, so many (non-Covid) deaths. As we all hang in there (bado siku 30 mwaka uishe na unaweza songa before 31st), let's reflect on the past 11 horrible months. What will you remember about this year 20 years from now.

I'll go first (OK, 20 years from now I'll be dead and buried, but what the heck).

For me, what I'll remember most is the disruption to children's lives that Covid brought about. No more school, no more Church, no more playing around, no visiting auntie, cucu or guka. Just staying at home staring at the sky and getting bored and scared.

I'll never forget one question one grandkid in Ndeiya asked me, his voice rather fearful: "Guka, if Covid kills all the people, who will look after your goats?"
