The Woman who ‘sold’ International Life House

She probably walked to Nairobi from wherever she was born. After a few days in Nairobi, she underwent a makeover and looked like a millionaire. She called a press conference at Hilton to announce that she was engaged in uranium business and was scouting for big deals with the US government, one of her customers, and had $100 million to invest in Kenya. It was not an era of the internet for anyone to google for the information.
Grace Aluma Ondonga. An illiterate genius.
She was probably driving after the makeover. Maybe a Peugeot 404.
Then one day, as she was idling around the streets of Nairobi, she saw International Life House. Then hatched a plan. Sell it. So, she visited a few companies (including a bank) which I will not name for now and senior government officials. The then Bahati MP Fred Omido and Dr Victor Johnson (UN Consultant from Sierra Leone) were victims too. Yes, they all gave her money to own International Life House – with all its 15 or so floors. Then she disappeared...into the thin air! In Parliament sometime in 1982, Constitutional Affairs Minister Charles Njonjo accused Omindo of helping her escape, though he was a victim.
